Product Description
What is Proscar?

Finasteride is a synthetic antiandrogen, which interfears with the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT), where DHT plays a role in prostate enlargement and is associated with male pattern baldness. Finasteride is used for treating benign prostate hyperplasia since 1992 and in smaller doses is used for treating male pattern baldness since 1997; it is available under the brand names Proscar and Propecia respectively, while the generics are sold as generic Finasteride or generic Proscar/Propecia. It is a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor and reduces the prostate size, which in turn causes the symptoms of benign prostate hyperplasia to improve, and diminishes the androgenic activity in the scalp, which causes hair loss to stop.
