what equipment do you and your horse need to go horse back riding?

what is the equipment called that i have to wear andwhat equipment does my horse have to wear

You need(no specific name-normally called rider’s gear):
-Boots(Tall boots or ankle high jodhpurs are great, but tennis shoes work fine too)
-Jeans or riding pants
-Helmet (Optional, but I HIGHLY suggest one)
-Gloves(Optional, some rider like to wear gloves)

Tack(what your horse needs)
-Halter(used for leading your horse around, is usually taken off while horse is being ridden and is replaced with a bridle)
-Saddle(must have stirrups)
-Saddle pad (goes under the saddle)
-Girth(the strap that goes around his belly and holds the saddle on)
-Bridle(head piece that the bit is attached to)
-Reins
-Bit (the thing is his mouth, there are many different types of bits that serve different purposes)

Grooming supplies(not used for riding, there is no set list of what grooming supplies are required, because riders all use different things, but this list is the basic stuff)
-Brush
-Curry comb
-Hoof Pick
-Shampoo for baths
-Sweat scraper for wiping away excess water or sweat

A saddle is not required, because horse’s can also be ridden bareback. But you will always want a bridle and reins.

If you don’t own your own horse or need to own your own equipment, wear jeans and a t-shirt and tennis shoes, and a bike helmet works, but the place where you ride should have one that you borrow
