What brand name of riding breeches should I buy for schooling?
I am petite and like both full seat and knee patches. I want breeches that are all cotton with a bit of stretch and are cool. I just about sweltered in my Kerrits. I just want something simple and cool for schooling
I love Dublin. Get them on Dover closeout for around $20-40. They last forever, are thick enough to be warmish in the winter, but really cool in the summer. They come in both knee patch and full seat. Devon-aire won’t last long though.
Ariats or Taylored Sportsmen, they are the best ones around!

I really like Devon-Aire. I have thicker ones for winter riding and really thin ones for summer and for my show breeches. They’re not too bad on price either.

Kerrits is usually pretty good. Maybe you bought their winter pants…I like Kerrits and TuffRider.

I LOVE my Cotton Natural breeches. They are stretchy and I wear them all summer long. They are great for schooling because they stretch easily and are very comfy. The only thing bad about them is that they are somewhat hard to find. But my sister is a skinny minnie and she just got a pair and they fit her fine. But they also fit people who are not super skinny. They are a great buy if you can find them.

I really like COtton Naturals. Tailored Sportsmen and stuff is really expensive….

It really depends on your body shape. I am a bit larger and very Pear-shaped meaning my hips are quite a bit larger than my waist and I have a pair of Dublin schooling breeches that I just love. They are a bit heavier but I can gain a few pounds and still have them fit well. Plus they don’t cost over $100 a pair, so If I need to replace them it doesn’t cost me much. But I also don’t ride English very often and the pair I have I bought in 2004.

I really like devon-aire xwear breeches. I don’t know what they are made of but they are super comfy and stretchy and last pretty long, though after awhile and lots of use start to get some holes. The breeches last pretty long and are super comfortable! Good luck shopping!

I find tuffrider breaches to be nice and durable. For the past few months I’ve been riding 5x a week and they still look rather new. Comfy too.

Whatever is cheapest and most comfortable for you. The only time I school in breeches is a few days before a show when I have to start riding in my boots. Then I wear some Ariats that I picked up for cheap at the Equine Affaire. Other than that I always ride in jeans.
