Buffalo are highly intelligent, we work calves for several reason. They need to go to a feed lot by a certain weight, the older they are the less money they are worth. The oldest buffalo I know worked by a cutting trainer was 8 years old. Thats amazing!

I have never seen a horse cutting mature buffalo! There is a famous cutting horse trainer in a nearby town and he uses small calves/yearlings? buffalo to train his Quarter horses on. I was impressed by that, but this blows my mind! I love my Appy, but a lot of people are close minded “haters” down here in Georgia. Ike is Awesome.

Why would a prey animal be afraid of another prey animal?! They’ll even graze side by side. Fear of buffalo is a HUMAN projection, not a horse thought. Now if the buffalo were a mountain lion…:-D
